With our rapidly growing, award-winning energy efficiency programs, our pathway to an exciting and innovative future is now.PSE's Customer & System Projects team is seeking qualified candidates for the Consulting Engineer - Customer & System Projects position.Details regarding work arrangements will be discussed during the interview process.The department is hiring an engineer with electric utility distribution system experience. The role involves providing professional engineering services and technical leadership, solving technical problems, supporting project planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of PSE facilities. The engineer will coordinate complex projects, review designs for compliance, and support emergency response operations.The candidate must uphold safety standards, promote a safety culture, and conduct business ethically in accordance with our core values and regulatory obligations. The position is classified as "safety sensitive" and requires pre-employment drug screening, including tests for marijuana.Job Responsibilities

• Assist the C&SP Project Manager with design consultation and engineering representation at customer meetings.
• Train department Engineering Specialists in advanced design concepts.
• Support multiple engineering areas as a lead staff engineer.
• Prepare complex engineering plans, designs, and evaluations using specialized analytical skills.
• Resolve unique problems with advanced techniques.
• Communicate solutions effectively to diverse audiences in verbal and written forms.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and requirements.
• Identify potential weaknesses and initiate corrective actions.
• Share work documentation to enhance team skills.
• Provide technical leadership across the department and company.
• Tailor solutions to PSE's business environment.
• Stay informed about industry developments and best practices.
• Coordinate and review work of engineers, technicians, and contractors.
• Plan and schedule engineering resources.
• Develop and execute departmental strategies.
• Support emergency response and restoration efforts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, or PE license.
  • Extensive experience in planning, design, maintenance, and project management, typically 10+ years.
  • Advanced technical expertise.
  • Experience leading engineering projects.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Desired Qualifications
    • Utility industry experience.
    • Professional Engineering License.
    • Knowledge of engineering economics and utility accounting.
    • Experience with complex engineering projects.Additional InformationWe offer a competitive salary range of $120,400.00 - $200,400.00, with eligibility for annual incentive bonuses.Our benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, 401(k), retirement plans, PTO, and holidays.
