unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing and
testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses,
our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets
for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight.As
part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will provide
structural analysis in support of production engine programs at
Blue Origin to support future launch cadence by New Glenn and other
launch vehicles delivering both commercial and government payloads.
You will support engineering nonconformances and anomalies during
engine production, test, and fleet service to include
repair/refurbishment as well as production and process driven
continuous improvement initiatives.To be successful in this role,
you will need to understand how to apply structural analysis
principles in a post-development environment to include production,
test, and fleet service. You will need to understand how these
functions interact within the post-development lifecycle as well as
the relationship to upstream product development efforts. You will
demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement by applying your
structural analysis expertise to identify and implement production
driven improvement opportunities such producibility design changes
and process driven improvements including analysis workflow,
methodologies, acceptance criteria, and structural repair manuals.
Demonstrated understanding of rocket engine turbomachinery,
manufacturing, and production are important. You will need to be
self-directed, balance several tasks at one time, and communicate

and vision is required!Responsibilities include but are not limited
to:
- Perform structural analysis of rocket engine turbomachinery in
support of engineering nonconformances and anomalies during
production, test, and fleet service.
- Conduct detailed structural analysis using FEA and classical
methodology on turbomachinery components such as impellers,
turbines, and housings.
- Conduct fatigue and fracture calculations to ensure components
survive the harsh environments of a rocket engine.
- Support production driven continuous improvement initiatives
such as cost and producibility design changes.
- Develop production structural analysis methodology and process
improvements to streamline post-development support efforts such
allowable damage, acceptance criteria, and structural repair
manuals.
- Work closely with related engineering disciplines (development
structural analysis, manufacturing, design, test, quality) and
technicians to help diagnose discrepancies, provide engineering
dispositions, and identify corrective actions.Minimum
Qualifications
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace, or related
engineering discipline and 5+ years of experience in structural
analysis of turbomachinery components.
- Experience performing FEA utilizing non-linear modeling
techniques to include non-linear material and contact methods.
- Experience performing modal analysis and frequency
prediction.
- Experience with fatigue and fracture analysis.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident
(current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as
a refugee or granted asylum.Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing structural analysis in support of
production, test, or fleet service to include
repair/refurbishment.
- Experience working with ANSYS Mechanical is strongly
desired.
- Experience with other turbomachinery aspects such as fracture
mechanics, forced response analysis, and damping.
- Previous leadership experience providing technical guidance and
direction to a team of engineers.Compensation range for on site WA
