Job Description:
The Risk and Compliance Specialist (RCS) supports the Risk &
Compliance Division by revising and maintaining safety
documentation, such as Safety Data Sheets, Site Emergency
Preparedness Plans, and Site Emergency Evacuation Routes. The role
will also provide safety audits to all agency sites to assess
potential safety hazards and risks. The role also supports the
Performance & Quality Improvement (PQI) system by performing the
tasks outlined in the PQI Process each quarter. The RCS retains a
permanent position on the Safety Committee as Secretary and Chairs
the meetings in the absence of the Director of Risk & Compliance
(DRC). Additionally, the role will provide general support to the
Risk & Compliance Division as needed, including such projects as
the accreditation process through the Council on Accreditation and
research for the Division.
REPORTS TO: Director, Risk & Compliance Schedule: Monday through
Friday 9:00AM to 5:00PM ESSENTIAL DUTIES Performance & Quality
Improvement
- Collaborate with Program Coordinators, Directors, and Managers
to conduct Case Record Reviews and Service Quality Reviews once per
quarter.
- Provide timely communication and reminders to PQI stakeholders
regarding forthcoming deliverables and due dates, especially for
any forms or documentation which may require attention.
- Assist Program Managers and Directors in facilitating reviews
on data trends and assessing for root cause.
- Support Program Managers and Directors as PQI stakeholders
successfully complete required PQI documentation.
- Keep the DRC apprised of any challenges or noncompliance
identified through the PQI process and elevate any other concerns
as appropriate.
- Coordinate with DRC to identify opportunities for improvement
and division collaboration once per quarter, ensuring to complete
any identified tasks.
- Maintain the PQI Manual and other PQI materials as
required.
- Collaboratively develop training curricula for the appropriate
level of new hires to ensure successful orientation to the PQI
process.
- Support the DRC in developing the annual PQI Report and
associated data as required.
- Review and provide revisions and feedback to Risk & Compliance
policies, procedures, and documentation as requested. Safety &
Compliance
- Maintain and revise the Site Emergency Preparedness Plans and
Evacuation Routes as required, ensuring relevant employees are
notified of such revisions in a timely manner.
- Conduct at least two Site Safety Visits per site per year,
ensuring to provide timely submission for any necessary facilities
tickets and sharing results with Risk & Compliance Division.
- Notify the DRC and Chief Risk & Compliance Officer (CRCO) of
any challenges with the Site Safety Visit process and collaborate
to improve as appropriate.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets, ensuring they are audited and
reviewed for accuracy during Site Safety Visits and revised as
needed.
- Provide timely notification of all PPE supply requests,
including the appropriate number of supplies which need to be
ordered by the DRC.
- Participate in monthly Safety Committee meetings, supporting
the DRC in facilitation as necessary and maintaining the secretary
role with accurate notes which are provided promptly after each
meeting.
- Coordinate with the DRC for instruction during the
accreditation process, including interim adjustments between
accreditation years to maintain relevancy and COA standards. JOB
REQUIREMENTS A. Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human service, project management, or data
analytics field preferred.
- Minimum of one year engaging with risk management or quality
assurance. B. Additional Requirements
- Must satisfactorily pass criminal history check.
- Must satisfactorily pass tuberculosis (TB) test.
- Employees and volunteers who operate their own or Friends of
Youth vehicles on Friends of Youth business, must have a safe
driving record as defined by Friends of Youth.
- Employees and volunteers who operate their own vehicle(s) on
Friends of Youth business must carry auto liability insurance that
complies with the requirements of Friends of Youth.
- Must successfully complete the following health certification
requirements within 30 days of employment: CPR, First Aid, and
Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required. There are no

- Willingness and ability to commute to various sites as
