Our family of dedicated mortgage professionals are committed to providing an efficient and educational mortgage process while unwavering from their dedication to integrity, honesty, and ethics.Job Summary:The Loan Officer will act as liaison between lenders, agents and clients applying for loans throughout the transaction. The Mortgage Loan Officer will initiate the mortgage process for potential clients, preparing, analyzing, and verifying mortgage loan applications for the purchase or refinance of real estate.Duties/Responsibilities:Develops a client book of business through referrals and marketingMeets with and interviews potential and current clients to understand their lending needs including first-time mortgages and refinance of existing loans.Explains the differences between and approval requirements of various types of mortgages; prepares and presents a lending package based on client specifications.Assists clients with completion of mortgage applications, inspecting completed documents for accuracy and thoroughness.Reviews loan applications, gathers credit histories and reports, and assesses applicants' capacity to repay and analyzes default risk.Based on predetermined requirements, guidelines and analysis of full application - assesses, grants or rejects mortgage applications.Input loans into Byte (Client fills out Mobile/Online App or LO fills out by Hand).Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in the local real estate market; current and predicted lending rates; and changes in rules, regulations, and best practices of various mortgages.Develops and maintains contacts with local realtors, developers, and builders to promote and encourage the use of bank services for residential mortgages.Assist Processor in satisfying loan conditions, if needed.Lock loans and manage/monitor lock expiration datesPerforms other duties as needed or assignedRequired Skills/Abilities:Current NMLS License in at least one of the following states: WA, OR, CA, ID, AZAt least 2+ years demonstrated success in a sales positionAt least 1+ year experience as a loan originator, requiredExcellent interpersonal and customer service skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Extensive knowledge of lending regulations, lien laws, and loan documentation.Effective organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly with complex financial information.Thorough understanding of Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Veterans Affairs (VA), Federal National Mortgage (Fannie Mae), and other types of construction and conventional loans.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Key information on position:100% commissionWashington First Mortgage partners with over 50 individual lenders and as result, we offer industry leading rates and services for our clientsWe offer Conforming, Jumbo, FHA, VA, USDA, Reverse, Non-QM or Non-Prime programsWashington First Mortgage is licensed in WA, OR, CA, AZ and IDCreate your own hours and schedule to fit your needsExcellent Benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, FSA, 401(k) matching and moreFull time and experienced support staff, including on-site processors
