Restoring Families.--Responsibilities: The Prep/porter is responsible to complete all items on the daily preparation list including vegetables and other food items, keeping the area stocked with basic, critical items throughout the shift, cleaning, sanitizing and maintaining equipment, utensils and tools. Responsible for ensuring the availability of clean dishes by washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware. Maintain clean work area while following health and safety guidelines. The prep cook/porter will follow directions of the chef and use the guidance of the other cooks in the kitchen.* Following proper storage and rotation procedures.* Assists with keeping the walk-in refrigerators and freezers clean and organized.* Assist with washing of large pots, sheet trays and hotel pans.* Attends meetings as required.* Ensure the kitchen adheres to State Health and Hygiene Requirements as well as Newport Academy culinary standards.* Assist chef with receiving daily orders, storing the meat and other products appropriately.Qualifications:* 3 months of restaurant experience preferred.Newport Healthcare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
