Director, Children and Family Ministry (DCFM)
The purpose of this position is to foster Christian faith formation in children and their families at
Rose Hill Presbyterian Church in Kirkland, WA. We seek an energetic candidate who:

The person in this position will provide vision, leadership, and direct involvement in RHPC’s
Children and Family Ministries (CFM) by building and leading a vital ministry for children ages of
birth 5th grade and their families.
Lead and oversee the overall development, coordination, administration, and spiritual
leadership of CFM, aligning it with the mission and vision of RHPC.
Coordinate and supervise all children’s programming including, but not exclusive to:
camp, occasional special CFM events, and parent support.
Recruit, train, encourage, supervise, and strengthen the lay ministry staff (teachers and
other volunteers) on an ongoing basis.
Work with the CFM Committee (monthly meetings), participate in Session meetings
regularly, and attend/contribute to weekly staff meetings.
Be a model of Christ’s love by developing and nurturing relationships with the people of
RHPC, particularly children and families, and also within the local community.
Coordinate, review, select and purchase Bibles, supplies, and appropriate curriculum.
Lead the implementation of the chosen curriculum for all services involving children ages
birth to 5th grade.
Promote/Communicate with parents and the church the CFM plans/calendar via Sunday
bulletin, monthly newsletter, email, website, social media, etc.
Maintain appropriate documentation regarding children’s attendance as well as
Plan and maintain an annual budget for CFM in tandem with the CFM Committee.
Plan and maintain an annual calendar of events in coordination with RHPC ministries.
Directly responsible on a daytoday basis to the Senior Pastor.
Ultimately responsible to the Session and subject to its authority, with input from the
Pastor, CFM Committee and the Personnel Committee.
A mature Christian who has a love for children and children’s ministry, whose life
demonstrates obedience to Scripture, who recognizes the Bible’s infallibility, and
understands Reformed Theology and Christian faith formation.
Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Education, Early Child Development or similar field
preferred, and/or related experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational skills.
Experience teaching/speaking to people of varying ages, in small and large group
Competent in Microsoft Office and other computer applications. Other technology
competence highly desirable.

Regularly required to talk, listen, sit and use hands to interact with students? also to
stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms? stoop, kneel or crouch.
May occasionally lift, move or carry up to 30 pounds.
