General Job Description Dogwood Industries is seeking an
experienced Welder to join our Team in Sedro-Woolley. A successful
candidate will be able to efficiently and accurately weld steel
assemblies from plans, specifications, and quality control hold
points, perform simple fittings, and process complex parts for
assembly. A successful candidate must be able to understand written
and verbal instructions while following dimensional and welding
drawings and produce production quality welds within a given
process. Duties & Responsibilities Welding competency in all
positions Able to set weld machines to optimum parameters for work
in accordance with WPS Understands weld symbols and prepares joints
in accordance with code Utilizes jigs and fixtures where
appropriate Performs basic fitting work as instructed Places welds
of proper size, spacing and sequence per work instruction Ability
to read and understand shop plans, blueprints and work orders
Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly
fashion Follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times Other
duties and responsibilities as assigned Requirements: Requirements
High school diploma, general education degree or vocational degree
3 years of experience welding or trade school education Certified
welder holding current WABO or AWS certification (FCAW) Skillful
operation of most non-specialized metal working equipment
Understands and applies visual inspection criteria in pre-QC work
checks Physical Requirements The physical demands described here
are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While
performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly
required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body,
able to reach overhead, able to work in various positions,
including, but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over,
sitting, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle, or feel objects,
tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance
for extended periods of time. Be able to lift, pull and push
material and equipment to complete assigned job tasks. Be able to
lift 50 pounds. The employee will be exposed to shop elements such
as noise, dust, fumes, and odors. This position requires physical
activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities in a
primarily production environment. The work environment
characteristics here are representative of those an employee
encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
Compensation: $25.00 - $38.00 per hour depending on experience and
