The company completed five acquisitions and added ten new locations in fiscal 2018; it also completed three business acquisitions and eight greenfield openings during fiscal 2019. This included the strategic acquisition of WSB Titan, which increased GMS' scale and footprint in North America, provided a leadership entry into the Canadian market and created a well-balanced platform for long-term growth.Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with business leaders to ensure the HR Strategy aligns with business goals and growth objectives
  • Partners with HR Centers of Excellence, such as Total Rewards, Talent Management, Inclusion & Diversity, and HR Operations to develop, execute and communicate their strategies and initiatives with the business
  • Provides coaching, consultation, and strategic partnership to senior business leaders as they identify and solve organizational, talent, culture, and other human capital challenges
    • Advises and coaches leaders at all levels in the organization to create a culture that is diverse, inclusive, and respectful
    • Resolves complex employee relations issues by conducting thorough and objective investigations
    • Establishes one's self as a creditable and trustworthy source for employees to voice concerns
    • Visible champion in attracting, developing, and retaining a best in class workforce
    • Partners with leaders to ensure employees receive feedback and coaching and that active development plans are in place to support individual growth and career progression
    • Stays current of changing federal, state and local laws as well as professional best practices and emerging trends
    • Conducts group and individual trainings to support business initiatives and compliance effortsOther Competencies:
      • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with the ability to collaborate with multidiscipline teams
      • Strong professional internal customer orientation with excellent work ethic and dedicationBasic Qualifications:
        • Bachelor's Degree in HR or related field
        • Minimum of 8 years of related work experience
        • PHR or SPHR preferred
        • Strong consultation and communication skills
        • Current, in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to human resources and employee management, including union relations and federal and state employment lawsPhysical Demands:
          • Must be able to remain in stationary position 70%
          • Must be able to operate basic office machinery
          • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
          • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
          • Must be able to travel to different locations within region
          • Must be able to work long hours if neededMental Demands:
