Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (06:00 - 14:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Not specified Certifications: CBSPD or IAHCSMM required Must-Have: - Inpatient, outpatient, and trauma setting experience required - Experience in sterilization, decontamination, assembly/wrap, case cart, HLD, and scrub - Experience with surgical cases including Ortho, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Vascular, Thoracic, Neuro, Gyn, Bariatrics, Plastics, Podiatry, ENT, Transplant, Robotics, Implants - Preferred experience in Ophthalmology Description: Position requires a Sterile Processing Technician to work Monday through Friday with rotating weekends. Each technician will handle a daily caseload of 65 surgical cases and manage 1200 trays. Weekend commitment is required, with technicians expected to work rotating weekends unless otherwise specified. On-call duties are also required on rotating weekends. Orientation will consist of 40 hours and will take place on day shift. During orientation, the first-day arrival time will be from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The second and third days will have an arrival time of 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. On the fourth day, the technician will transition to their contracted shift. Agency technicians are expected to work rotating weekends, barring any contractual specifications. Experience in a variety of surgical service lines is essential. Candidates should be prepared to work flexible schedules as patient care needs arise. All travelers should be willing to float between various units within their skill set.
