Wage Range: $28.95 - $46.32 per hour

Posted wage ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. Some positions also offer additional premiums based on shift, certifications or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.

Job Summary:
Responsible for the coordination and coverage of the daily office operations, staffing, and (MA) medical assistants of EvergreenHealth Orthopedic and Sports Care. Duties include coordinating office systems, patient scheduling, patient flow, medical records, authorizations, referral management, quality assurance, policy and procedure development, program development and implementation, and front and back office organization.

Primary Duties:

1. Performs all job functions described in the Medical Assistant or LPN job description.
2. Acts as liaison between medical assistant staff, other clinic departments, and Clinic Manager for the purpose of problem solving, as well as improving patient care and clinic operations.
3. Helps to identify areas needing coordination, and standardization between the MA/Nursing departments of practice sites. Seeks out and evaluates new procedures for use in the department
4. Creates, distributes and maintains monthly staffing schedules.
5. Provides training and support for staff when EMR software is updated as it relates to the Medical Assistants.
6. Responsible for material and supply ordering, receiving, and stocking.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Competencies:
---Proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending and speaking English as required for business necessity.
---Accountability for HIPAA privacy and security standards within the department or assigned nursing unit.
---Must possess intermediate skills to use Microsoft Office, specialized software and electronic office equipment.
---Assists the director/manager in financial management for department budgets in accordance with organizational policies. Ensures systems are in place to monitor budget activities and revenue.
---May provide peer input for interview and hiring to manager.
---Assists with regular staff meetings for the provision of information, policy changes, teambuilding, and operational issues. Facilitate meeting minutes.
---Communicates any changes affecting staff in a timely manner.
---Ensures that procedure manuals are maintained; including writing or overseeing implementation of new procedures and reviewing current procedures. Maintain and keep current reference materials and policy manuals.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position:

  • High School graduate or equivalent
    ---Current WA State Medical Assistant Certification
    ---Current national certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Health Career Association (NHA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) or Licensed as a LPN in the State of Washington
    ---3 years of Medical Assistant or LPN experience
    ---Current Healthcare Provider BKS certification by date if hire
    ---Leadership skills including planning, organizing and directing
    ---Ability to delegate tasks including description/explanation of task, observation, authority boundaries and review controls
    ---Excellent time managements skills
    ---Possess a strong internal customer services focus
    ---Must be flexible, highly adaptive to change, tolerant of ambiguity and able to manager and meet multiple deadlines
    ---Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and concisely, in writing: read and understand information presented in writing
    ---Ability to think critically and execute excellent problem solving
    DESIRED for the position:

    ---Medical Assistant or LPN experience in a medical clinic
    ---Supervisory or training experience
