Wage Range: $42.62 $71.09 per hour plus Lead premiumPosted wage
ranges represent the entire range from minimum to maximum. For jobs
with more than one level, the posted range reflects the minimum of
the lowest level and the maximum of the highest level. Some
positions also offer additional premiums based on shift,
certifications, or degrees. Job offers are determined based on a
candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and
internal equity.Job Summary: The Sonographer, Level II, is
accomplished in two or more of the following applications: General
(abdominal, OB-GYN, small parts, nuerosonology and breast) and
Vascular Technology (carotid, venous and arterial), and presents
the findings to the interpreting radiologist on the level
appropriate with the ARDMS level II Sonographer.Primary Duties: 1.
Preforms Ultrasound examinations in different specialties,
including: a) General Ultrasound (Abdomen, Pelvic, Renal, Thyroid,
Scrotal, Breast, MSK, Neurosonology, and Pediatrics; Assisting with
Interventional Procedures, including biopsies, aspirations,
localizations, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, and OR/Cath Lab
guidance). b) OB Ultrasound (First and 2nd Trimester OB, D & E
Procedures, and amniocentesis) c) Vascular Ultrasound (Abdominal
Vasculature, Venous Extremities, Arterial Extremities, Carotid
Doppler, Renal Arterial Doppler, TIPS, Grafts, and ABI/Toe
Pressures). 2. Analyzes patient's general body configuration to
analyze the most acceptable examination approach 3. Assists with
introduction or placement and the application of various ultrasound
transducers. 4. Assists with introduction or placement of intra
cavity devices, as well as needles designed for biopsy or
amniocentesis. 5. Provides portable examinations at bedside as
requested by attending physicians and processes the documenting
video film.6.Performs high-level disinfection on transducers as
appropriate.7.Performs other duties as assignedLead
Accountabilities:1.Oversees daily clinical activity and
coordination of patient/employee ratios.2.Monitors staffing grid to
institute low census policies when possible.3.Insures thoroughness
and safety of examination while setting priority of clinical
need.4.Maintains examination schedule in the most productive manner
with a balance of clinical responsibility shared between
staff.5.Delegates special work assignments when volumes
allow.6.Maintains section policy/procedure manuals as well as exam
protocol manuals.7.Supports, develops and participates in quality
control and quality assurance standards and programs.8.Has
knowledge of and actively participates in review of JC
requirements.9.Provides in-service and orientation to new employees
in the section and ancillary personnel as required.10.Insures and
record completeness of required documents of licensure,
certification and registration as related to section.11.Coordinates
repair and maintenance of equipment through Manager in a manner not
to insult patient care, productivity or after-hours work if
possible.12.Maintains inventory levels in the section sufficient
for examination requirements while complying with budget guidelines
as outlined by DI Manager.13.Confers with the Manager on a regular
basis for discussion of productivity, budget status and overall
direction of responsibility.14.Immediately communicates all
exceptions to department and hospital policies.15.Develops call,
standby and vacation/attendance schedule for approval by direct
supervisor no less than one month prior to distribution.16.Attends
and actively participates in lead technologist
meetings.17.Communicates on regular basis with radiologists on the
best approach to tailor examination to clinical need.18.Aids in
development of new procedures and policies.19.Assists supervisor
with TQA (technical quality assurance) programs; promotes
technologist participation.20.Reviews images for technical quality
and guidance for technologists.21.Performs other duties as
assigned.License, Certification, Education or Experience:REQUIRED
for the position: * ARDMS-eligible by date of hire. ARDMS-certified
in Abdomen and Vascular Certification (RVT) within one year of
employment. * OB/GYN at a minimum by two years of employment. *
Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound Program. * Training specific
to the operation and use of Ultrasound scanners * Current
Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire DESIRED for
