individual to join our Development Team as a Database Manager. We
are seeking a candidate who can support the school's mission of

backgrounds to apply.The Database Manager reports to the Assistant
Head of School for Advancement requires a highly confidential and
professional acumen. The Database Manager supports the work of The
Bush School's Development Department and works collaboratively with
members of the Development team and other departments on campus,
particularly the Business Office. The position is responsible for
the school's donor database systems, reporting, and operations, as
well as prospect research.The Database Manager ensures maximum
efficiency and integrity of the information in the school's Raisers
Edge database; to provide on-going database and software needs
analysis; to determine the best possible solutions for keeping the
data accurate; and to create systems that offer maximum and
appropriate utilization of information and technology. In addition,
this position will conduct and lead prospect research by providing
key reports, donor information, and strategic assessments of
prospects. Approximately 50% of the time is allocated to database
management including gift processing, 25% to prospect research and
information management, and 25% on reporting and analysis.While
other duties may be assigned, a qualified candidate will be able to
manage the key responsibilities and tasks listed below:
- Maintain the highest integrity of Raiser's Edge and supported
software programs in terms of accuracy and currency; implement
existing policies and programs to keep the database clean and
growing in data relevant to our constituencies and our goals as a
department
- Provide the research, data, reports, and tools for a strategic,
coordinated, and systematic approach to prospect identification,
cultivation, and donor engagement strategies
- Collaborate with team members to track fundraising activity and
effectiveness, determine reporting needs, and implement existing
strategies for identifying new donors
- Participate in department strategy development
- Process biographical information research and updates in
Raiser's Edge including the creation of new student/family
records
- Ensure that constituent files are maintained in an accurate and
timely fashion
- Perform routine database maintenance and identify areas to
improve operational and reporting efficiency
- Identify areas for integration across other data platforms used
by Development and Communications
- Complete timely gift processing, pledge reminders, and
acknowledgement letters
- Work collaboratively with the Business Office to produce
accurate and timely monthly and quarterly reports and
reconciliations
- Generate industry benchmark reports and analyses as
requested
- Manage, generate, and produce constituent lists for
fundraising, specials events, and school communications and
publications
- Upload email content and support deployment of broad-based
emails through Online Express
- Work with donors and financial advisors to help provide a
joyful giving experience
- Update and maintain operations manual for database as well as
provide and deliver training to team members
- General support of Development team activities, events, and
programs
- Maintain stewardship reports and information for Head of
School
- Ability and willingness to perform other responsibilities, as
assignedExperience and Professional Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree is required
- Three or more years of experience with database management is
required
- Experience in Raiser's Edge or with another donor database is
preferred
- Knowledge of non-profit fundraising principles and related data
needs are required
- Highly developed understanding of database systems; expertise
in relational database queries, import/export and reporting
function, and prospect research are required
- Full working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, mail merges, and
other standard software applications are required
- Professional writing skills are required
- Experience working in an education setting is

- Have a current Adult and Children CPR, First Aid and AED
Certification (or receive one soon after hire date)
- Meet the school's standards when completing two separate
background screeningsCompensation/Benefit Information for this
position:
- Salary Range: $ 78,000 - 83,000
