Join our team developing next-generation commercial radar
solutions.Echodyne is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with
experience in thermal and structural analysis to join our team
working in a dynamic environment developing high-performance
commercial radar solutions.Role OverviewEffective thermal
management and structural integrity of the enclosure are critical
to ensuring optimal performance of a radar system across the
environmental extremes that it's designed to meet. As a Senior
Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in every phase of the
product lifecycle (Definition, Exploration, Architecting, Design,
Development, Verification, Production, and Sustainment). In each
phase, you will both contribute to and learn from challenging
problems in passive thermal management and a wide array of modal,
shock, and vibration requirements related to a state-of-the-art
radar. In this role, you will also draw upon the knowledge and
experience gained from collaborating with other product development
team members and suppliers alike to continue the pioneering spirit
of Echodyne in bringing industry-leading, yet cost-effective,
technology to the market.REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
- Senior-engineer level experience in mechanical engineering
design for electro-mechanical products, with deep understanding of
thermal, electrical, and environmental considerations.
- Knowledge of the mechanical considerations of PCB design and
PCB packaging.
- Ability to advise RF, Microwave, Digital & Antenna engineering
teams on constraints (mechanical, environmental, thermal) & work to
a production solution.
- Advanced-to-expert level user of Solidworks.
- Knowledge in implementing, interpreting and explaining ASME
Y14.5 GD&T.
- Knowledge in hand and computational analysis for modal, stress
and thermal considerations.DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE(Looking for
one or more as a complement to the core skills)
- Proficient experience in ANSYS/similar analysis software for
thermal and structural computational analyses.
- Experience leading the mechanical design of RF or
millimeter-wave transmit/receive modules, or equivalent PWA-based
transceivers, at x-band or above through qualification & product
launch.
- Certified in ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
- Experience designing and certifying products for IP rating
requirements.
- Knowledge of various production processes and ability to tailor
design to those processes to meet design to cost objectives.
- Relationships with local fabrication shops.
- Knowledge and/or experience with design approaches for RF
isolation requirements.QUALIFICATIONS
- BS, MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with +5
years experience.
- Eligible to handle export-controlled data (ITAR, EAR).EXPORT

OFFERThe pay range for this position is $121,100 - $181,600 per
