interest in the field of sustainable transportation. Vehicle
Performance Stimulation Engineer Intern will be a part of Kenworth
Vehicle Integration Engineering Team and will have an opportunity
to gain hands-on experience and make a valuable contribution to
overall achievement of the company mission. The successful
candidate will support a team of high-performing professionals who
pride themselves in developing innovative processes, setting
industry standards for quality, and providing cost-effective
designs. The Stimulation Engineer Intern will be responsible for
creating simulation models for fuel/energy economy and drivability
performance and will have the opportunity to work with big data
related to vehicle performance.
The primary scope of work includes assisting in the analysis of
component efficiency data, full vehicle simulation results,
maintenance, and improvements to modeling tools for simulated
vehicle control behavior. Other responsibilities may include
defining control function requirements and assisting in validation
of vehicle-level performance.
Identify, develop and incorporate advanced automotive technologies
into PACCAR products.
Build, maintain, and utilize vehicle simulation models for
fuel/energy economy and drivability performance evaluation in
support of major projects.
Collect requirements by interacting with cross-functional teams to
define functional requirements.
Work with global teams to deliver common, cost-efficient solutions
Currently pursuing a degree in one of the following disciplines:
Engineering (Electrical, Software, or Mechanical), Computer
Science, or equivalent (sophomore status or higher)
Experience in Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow
Experience in system modeling and simulation
Skilled in big data, data management and integration tools, and
Experience communicating complex ideas via dashboards
Understanding of design, development, and validation processes
Independent judgment and effective decision-making skills
Passion and interest in working on next-generation electrified
Experience in controls development
Experience in requirements management
Experience modeling powertrain and auxiliary vehicle components
Experience in electrified components
Experience in model refactoring for structure and consistency in
future projects for PACCAR
Experience in graphical user interface development experience
(Matlab, Tableau) to communicate concepts in a simple but accurate
Familiarity with statistics for analyzing test data
Familiarity with version control software
Familiarity with MiL/SiL/HiL simulation
Familiarity with J1939 protocol
Familiarity with reliability analysis of components
