parking • Lunch on most school days JOB SUMMARY Eastside Catholic
School is seeking a High School Special Education Teacher for the
remainder of the 2025-26 school year to join our special education
team. This position serves as a member of both the Options Program
and the Learning Support Department. The Options Program supports
students with mild to moderate intellectual, developmental and
cognitive disabilities. We are seeking a passionate educator who is
deeply committed to helping students develop the functional,
academic and adaptive skills needed to thrive and live as
independently as possible within their communities. Coursework is
individualized and may include Reading, Literature, Math, Science,
Careers, Communications and Social Skills, Social Studies, Health,
Music Therapy, History, Religious Studies and Technology. In
addition to Options Program teaching responsibilities, this
position will also support the Learning Support Department, which
provides accommodation and academic support for students with
documented learning differences. Ideal candidates will have strong
communication skills, a collaborative mindset and a deep belief in
the dignity and potential of every student. Specific
Responsibilities Design, procure and prepare individualized
instructional curriculum, instructional materials and lesson plans
according to a student's learning needs Establish clear objectives
for lessons, units, learning targets and projects and communicate
those objectives to students Collaborate with department staff
members, parents and students to develop and monitor learning goals
Use a variety of instructional and learning strategies, activities
and classroom materials tailored to a student's learning styles and
needs Employ multiple instructional techniques, methods and media
to meet the needs and capabilities of each student Create a
classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for
students with intellectual and developmental disabilities Establish
and manage student behavior and apply intervention strategies in
the classroom and schoolhouse Employ and maintain a classroom
structure and consistency to encourage student responsibility,
cooperation and mutual respect aligned with school policies and
procedures. Proctor assessments for students with learning
accommodations Assist in preparing and updating learning support
plans Support Academic Resources classes as directed Required
Knowledge, skills and abilities Deep commitment to working with
students with a range of intellectual and developmental
disabilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the
ability to build positive relationships with students and families
Experience providing specialized learning experiences designed to
help students fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional
and social growth Familiarity with and ability to provide a
positive learning environment, encouraging students learning and
inquiry through interactions that stretch development of skills,
concepts, language acquisition, communication skills and
concentration Demonstrated experience modifying and adapting a
broad range of curricula to meet all cognitive levels Collaborative
team player with excellent organizational skills Ability to
maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion Proficiency with
Microsoft Office and willingness to learn assistive and emerging
technologies Commitment to practices that promote equity, inclusion
and belonging Education and experience Bachelor's degree or higher
with a focus in special education Proven experience teaching at the
high school level in special education Special education teaching
certificate preferred A master's degree in special education is
preferred Salary: $54,500-$109,105 annually Any offered salary is
determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market
data, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, degrees,
