Job Description:
grant writer - grants The Grant Writer secures grant-based
funding from private, corporate, government and community sectors,
and functions as the project lead for all grant-writing projects to
which they are assigned. They are responsible for the completion of
all research, writing, production, delivery, follow-up, evaluation,
and measurement functions associated with their assigned grant
writing projects. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, hourly Reports To:
Senior Manager of Grants essential duties 1. Write grant
solicitations to all sectors of funding. 2. Serve as the project
lead on all assigned grant writing projects. 3. Meet with assigned
division employees to develop a work plan for each grant
opportunity. 4. Identify all tasks associated with the
grant-writing project and define milestones including deliverables
and deadlines, so grant is completed in a responsive, accurate and
timely manner. 5. Monitor the achievement of project milestones
throughout the project to ensure timely completion of grant-writing
projects. 6. Gather all information requested by the prospect into
an appropriate, compelling, well written, error free application
format. 7. Submit completed application to the prospect prior to
the established deadline. 8. Follow up with prospect to determine
status of the requests. 9. When funded, work with appropriate
employees to complete required status reports as necessary. 10.
When not funded, follow up with prospect as appropriate to seek
constructive feedback. 11. Assist in the development and review of
the annual grant writing plan. 12. Research potential grant sources
from private, community, government, and corporate sectors for
inclusion in the annual grant writing plan. 13. Participate in
professional associations, training, and other community meetings
to build relationships and aid in the formulation of effective and
compelling grant proposals. 14. Track grant writing activity and
contact information within the appropriate databases, in
conformance with the established norms and procedures. Other Duties
Education and Experience 1. Bachelor's degree in a human-service or
business-related field preferred. 2. Minimum of 2 years of
experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, or applicable
experience. 3. Experience with project management/donor tracking
software such as Raiser's Edge, preferred.We offer:15 vacation days
